Gareth Daws (b1962) works as a self-employed sole trader specialising in the lime based conservation repair to the brick, flint, plaster and stonework of historic buildings.
In 2006 he graduated with a 1st class BA(Hons) from Canterbury Christchurch University in Built Heritage Conservation with Fine Art, and a City & Guilds in brickwork from South East Kent Technical College.
He completed two placements on the Traditional Building Skills Bursary Scheme in historic brickwork & traditional plastering with sponsorship from English Heritage & the National Trust from 2007-8.
From 2008-10 he worked as a stonemason conservator at Canterbury Cathedral.
Since 2011 he has worked self-employed on numerous historic buildings focusing on the repair of traditionally constructed vernacular buildings of south-east England dating from the 14th to early 20th centuries.
